In the first quarter of 2026, cargo turnover at the Suifenhe border crossing increased by 30% year on year, and there was a revival in both cargo and passenger traffic. The railway checkpoint has completed the modernization of automatic inspection systems, smart scales and electronic comparison of bills of lading - data on cargo, vehicle and declaration is transmitted in real time, the inspection time of ordinary cargo has been halved. As a consolidation point for the eastern corridor of China–Europe trains, domestic trains are reorganized here and sent throughout Russia. The customs authorities of China and Russia have created a joint control mechanism and unified inspection standards; green corridors have been organized for vegetables, fruits, perishable products and components, ensuring the accelerated passage of urgent cargo. Suifenhe has emerged as a key hub on the Sino-Russian border, integrating rail, road transport and e-commerce.
