In November 2025, the Chinese-Russian railway postal container train Hunchun - Moscow was launched. The 46-container train supports a mixed load of postal small packages and general trade goods, with a total transit time of up to 12 days. The train is operated by the Northeast Asia Railway Corporation of Jilin Province. After forming at the southern station of the Hunchun border crossing, the train is sent directly to the Russian capital, reducing the number of reorganizations and increasing stability. The transportation of small e-commerce items, documents and cargo with high added value is provided, compensating for the instability of road transport times and the high cost of air transport. The Hunchun border crossing forms a multimodal rail-road-sea network, promoting the opening up of Northeast China to Russia and providing cross-border e-commerce with a cost-effective and efficient dedicated line option.
