In the first quarter of 2026, TIR international road transport volume between China and Russia increased by 50% year-on-year, becoming the leading choice for cross-border e-commerce and urgent cargo. Thanks to the principle of “one declaration, one document, straight forward”, TIR requires only a single inspection and opening of the container along the entire route between participating countries, which significantly reduces downtime at the border. The border crossings of Kunming, Urumqi, Khorgos and others have opened TIR green corridors, providing priority passage for urgent cargo - freshly cut flowers, electronics, auto parts. Since 2026, platforms such as Anzhida have launched regular flights on the route Georgia - Russia - Kazakhstan - Khorgos with a stable transit time of 15 days and a 20% reduction in costs compared to traditional road transport. TIR complements China-Europe trains and maritime transport, expanding multimodal transport options.
