In 2025, the volume of transit of Kazakh grain through Russia tripled compared to the same period, reaching 2.2 million tons; transshipment through Russian ports amounted to 526.4 thousand tons, an increase of 34%. JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and JSC Russian Railways signed a cooperation plan for 2026, which provides for increasing cross-border transportation of grain, fertilizers, metals and other bulk cargo. In 2025, the total volume of cargo transportation between Kazakhstan and Russia reached 92.1 million tons, an increase of 3.5%; exports amounted to 52.9 million tons, transit - 25.6 million tons. The growth of grain transit is due to the expansion of Kazakh exports to the Middle East and North Africa, the stability and clear price advantage of the Russian transit corridor. The Chinese-Kazakh-Russian grain corridor continues to strengthen.
