In the first quarter of 2026, bilateral agricultural trade between China and Kazakhstan increased by 55% year on year, reaching US$2.8 billion. The logistics infrastructure continues to be modernized. Supplies of Kazakh wheat, corn, soybeans, rapeseed, dairy products and meat to China are growing, while exports of Chinese vegetables and fruits, tea, seafood and equipment for the food industry to Kazakhstan are expanding. The parties are jointly creating agrilogistics parks with a cold chain in Khorgos, Alashankou, Xi'an and Almaty, equipped with equipment for pre-cooling, storage, sorting, processing and quarantine control, with full temperature monitoring and traceability along the entire route. At border crossings there are special inspection zones for agricultural products, there is mutual recognition of quarantine certificates, which eliminates repeated checks and reduces customs clearance time from a day to three hours. Cooperation in the field of agricultural logistics helps ensure food security and revitalize rural areas in China and Kazakhstan.
