In the first quarter of 2026, the share of cross-border payments in RMB between China and Kazakhstan reached 45%, an increase of 15 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Currency risks and settlement costs for logistics companies have decreased significantly. Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Agricultural Bank of China have opened branches in Kazakhstan, providing cross-border RMB payment and collection services, letters of credit, guarantees and supply chain finance. For logistics enterprises, products such as “shipment credit”, “warehouse receipt financing” and “customs financing” have been developed to ease the pressure on working capital. Thanks to the synergy of logistics and finance within the framework of Chinese-Kazakh cooperation, the cost of financing for enterprises has decreased by 2-3 percentage points, and settlement time has been reduced from three days to one. In the first quarter of 2026, trade finance between China and Kazakhstan grew by 50% year on year, with logistics finance becoming a new pillar of trade growth.
